The much beloved 1989 movie Steel Magnolias is getting a modern day makeover with an all-star African-American cast. The theatrical release that starred Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, and Olympia Dukakis will now see it’s television redo with Queen Latifah, Condola Rashad, Jill Scott, Alfre Woodard, Adepero Oduye, and Phylicia Rashad in the main roles.
Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias” will premiere in October, but the first full preview can be seen right here.
