Producer Max Handelman says of Pitch Perfect, “This had to be a film that didn’t explicitly make fun of a cappella but also didn’t take it too seriously.” Handleman could have easily said that about our Trailer Breakdown of his film as well. Tory Shulman is back, not to make fun of Pitch Perfect, but not to take it too serious either.

The movie is actually a really good time for anyone who checks it out in full on October 5. Starring Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air), Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids), Brittany Snow (Hairspray), Anna Camp (The Help) and Skylar Astin (“Girls”), the movie, based on the book “Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory,” follows Beca (Kendrick) as she enters Barden University, with no clique to fit into and a heavy interest in mixing tunes. When she encounters the all-female a cappella group, The Bellas, she realizes she can help modernize their outdated routines, but it won’t be easy.
Until the movie’s theatrical release, you have the musical comedy stylings of Ms. Tory Shulman with her latest Trailer Breakdown.
