Awards season is already shaping up to be a “spread the wealth” kind of year with no individual movie really dominating multiple categories. And who comes out on top come Oscar® night is anyone’s guess at this point in the campaign. But the National Board of Review has made its choices for the best of 2011 with “Hugo” being named Best Film of the Year. The film’s director, Martin Scorsese, was awarded Best Director. ”Michael Clayton” co-stars George Clooney and Tilda Swinton were given Best Actor and Actress honors for “The Descendants” and “We Need To Talk About Kevin” respectively.
