When “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson – who famously brought to life the slightly nerdy and super academic Hermione – was ending her more than ten year run in the eight-movie franchise, she famously took on another role…as a student at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
But she’s stepping back into the world of high school for her next movie, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” based on the best-selling book of the same name. Watson stars alongside Logan Lerman (“The Three Musketeers,” “3:10 to Yuma”), Nina Dobrev (“Vampire Diaries”), Ezra Miller (“City Island,” “Another Happy Day”), Paul Rudd, Dylan McDermott and Kate Walsh. Stephen Chbosky, who wrote the book, is also directing the movie, a coming-of-age story about a shy and troubled high school freshman, Charlie (Lerman) taken under the wings of two older students who help bring him out of his shell and explore the world around him.
The movie doesn’t have a release date yet, but we do have our first look at the movie thanks to these two images released by Summit Entertainment. Both feature Watson and Lerman, one including their writer/director.
