The incredibly talented comedic character actor Eugene Levy may best be known as Jim’s Dad in the American Pie movies. And he’s back the latest movie in that franchise, American Reunion, on April 6th.

But some of his most loved movies are the ones he has written with Christopher Guest — Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. Levy, his American Reunion co-star Jennifer Coolidge, Catherine O’Hara, Jane Lynch, Fred Willard, Bob Balaban, Parker Posey and John Michael Higgins, among many others, have created some of the most interesting, memorable and unique characters and stories over the last 16 years.
Several in the gang reunited for a skit that played during this year’s Oscars® telecast, but at the American Reunion press junket this past weekend in Los Angeles, The Seven Sees asked Levy whether they will reunite anytime soon for another movie.
“There’s nothing on the horizon,” Levy said. “We didn’t really want to do another movie that’s kind of a cookie-cutter movie where you’ve got the same kind of style, but you just change the subject. And everybody’s kind of doing that style now, that fake documentary – even TV shows are now coming out using that fake documentary style – so there’s nothing novel about that so much anymore. So we haven’t really hit on an idea…[Christopher Guest and I] both kind of agree on. But we’re always talking.”
