In a throwback to the classic days of cinema, Director Michel Hazanavicius has turned back the clock with "The Artist." The movie, about a silent film star being pushed out of the spotlight at the dawn of 'talkies' is nominated for 10 Academy Awards® and is the odds on favorite to win Best Picture on Sunday
Last year's acting Academy Award® winners - Natalie Portman, Colin Firth, Melissa Leo, Christian Bale - will return to the Oscar stage to honor their successors. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences released this statement:

It brings a great rivalry between a father and son to the screen set among a unique backdrop of academic competition, a need for admiration, and a desire for respect.
On Sunday, it's widely expected that "The Artist" will walk away with the Best Picture Oscar. However, I believe many have underestimated the power of "The Help," which, in my opinion, could be the one to unseat the silent, black & white frontrunner.
