BLOWJOB, VAGINA, AND A HUMPING SHIA LaBEOUF: THE “NYMPHOMANIAC” TRAILER

Nymphomaniac Character Posters Teaser BLOWJOB, VAGINA, AND A HUMPING SHIA LaBEOUF: THE NYMPHOMANIAC TRAILER

Over the last several months we’ve been treated to short clips of Lars von Trier’s upcoming sex-filled movie Nymphomaniac.  They were mere teases, if you will, giving us the moments leading up to what is sure to be very revealing sex scenes.  We then got the O-Faced character posters featuring the cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman, and Willem Dafoe.

Now comes the trailer.  Filled with women dressed like school girls, one spitting out semen, a clear shot of an actual blow-job, Shia LaBeouf in various sexual positions, and Uma Thurman overacting – which has nothing to do with sex, it’s just an observation – it’s hard to understand how it stayed on YouTube so long.  But it’s very clear the movie will try its best at shocking audiences in this desperate attempt for attention.  Don’t get me wrong, all of us who watch movies for a living or for fun will be checking this one out to see if it can live up to all the raunchy hype. But after Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender handled the topic of sex addiction so well in Shame, which had its big nude moment (pun intended) when Fassbender went full frontal, it’s easy to be skeptical that Nymphomaniac could be all T&A without any real substance.

Take a look at the trailer and see what you think.  Trying too hard or pushing the boundaries of filmmaking?

  1. I love youe thought on this and i coeelptmly agree. Here’s the thing, I just don’t get Shia anymore. I mean at one point I had such hope for him. He was in talks for my favorite comic ever (Y, The last Man) and he got all indie retro. Growing out his hair, walking around with a beard, insulting the major blockbusters he stars in, and now having real sex on camera. Call me crazy or maybe I’m just not that committed as an actor but what exactly is the point of that? Parts of me believes that he’s rebelling but what’s a rebel without a cause? I mean seriously? Why?!! Ugh he is too talented to be acting out like this and I coeelptmly agree with you. I don’t see art in his decision to have real sex in this film at all. I personally think he just wants to do what he wants right now and see how far he can go with it. Ugh! I need a Xanax now. He just frustrates me. This piece is great. More of your opinion pieces please Teisha.
